Wedding Photographer Gets Loose in downtown Lansing MI Studio- Makes Version of Love Jones that Rocks the Community
Thats what my headline would say. Don’t let me run a newspaper, it would be a mess.
Anyway, Kai and Mikeyy hit me up for their engagement photos and had a few requests— first, can we shoot in the studio? yes. Second request, can you make us something that feels intimate, connected and natural while still giving us some pretty heavy posing? absolutely yes.
Mikeyy Austin, our groom, owns and operates the OurSpace Creative Studio inside Potter’s Mill Downtown, and I’d been dying to shoot there since they made it available to the public. I don’t always do studio work, but I like to play every once in a while. Obviously, when this gorgeous couple got in contact with requests that felt so aligned with what I needed creatively, it was a resounding “yes, please!” Their inspo was something out of a 90’s move. Full of feeling, classic, cool, film-y. My jam.
When we shot these, I had just gotten my brand new R6 camera body, and I was soooo hype to see how much the change in camera helped bring the cinematic perspective I was going for to fruition. I loooove studio sessions when they’re like this.
