Natalie + Stephen \\ lansing michigan elopement

“I like to think I have perfect timing”

This is something Natalie said to me on our first conversation. She and Stephen had been engaged a few months, and one day while shopping at Old Navy (which is her spot), she just happened to find a white dress and try it on. She called Stephen and said “I’m ready, let’s do this.” They were married a week later. They reached out to invite me to document the hustle and bustle of the getting ready process, the ceremony and some portraits after, keeping their intimate dinner private. What they didn’t know was that I was originally booked that day… but on the very day Natalie inquired, those plans canceled and I was able to be their photographer. Her timing is, indeed, perfect. Stephen + Natalie got ready and shared a first look at Natalie’s mom's house, where we enjoyed locally made pastries and got acquainted. Bride’s sister, Julia, finished the bride’s hair and we all ventured to the Michigan Historical Museum where Natalie + Stephen got married with the mosaic atrium behind them. We ended our time together with some private portraits inside the ever exclusive Michigan Capitol Building in Lansing.
