Madi and Savvas \\ Downtown Lansing Elopement

Madi and Savvas are dreamy. Their downtown Lansing Michigan wedding was nothing short of whimsical. They spent the morning cozy together sans-photographer and guests, put on their special wedding fits and walked a gorgeous, soft 20 feet from their back door into their garden. With a camera set up and tucked back to record their vows, surrounded by a gentle breeze and a velvety morning sun on their faces, they committed to forever with each other and that was it.

Later on, we the photographer and guests were invited to join them at Sleepwalker in Reo Town Lansing for some celebratory drinks, a cheeky joint or two or three and plates of poutine that put all others to shame. Madi and Sav really wanted to spend like NO time posing or pulled away for photos, so we snuck across the street quickly before guests arrived to grab some quick portraits and I spent the rest of the night as a true fly on the wall. Madi’s sleeves and accessories, the flowers courtesy of a close friend (faemargueritefloralandevents) and their wedding banner- handmade by Madi’s mom!!!! I die- were my favorite little details from the day. The creation of their wedding day was SO reflective of the couple. Intentional, slow-paced and so, so genuine you can feel it. This wedding was also so cute and fun for me, as I was photographing a bride and groom, got to hang out with two former brides who were guests at the event as well as another couple, my sweet brides, who I get to photograph on their wedding day this upcoming September. I had to take several moments to bask in gratitude to be so physically surrounded by the inter-connection of humans I’ve poured my all into. Past, present and future. So cool.
