“I like to think I have perfect timing”

This is something Natalie said to me on our first conversation. She and Stephen had been engaged a few months, and one day while shopping at Old Navy (which is her spot), she just happened to find a white dress and try it on. She called Stephen and said “I’m ready, let’s do this.” They were married a week later. They reached out to invite me to document the hustle and bustle of the getting ready process, the ceremony and some portraits after, keeping their intimate dinner private. What they didn’t know was that I was originally booked that day out of town… but on the very day Natalie inquired, those plans canceled and I was able to be in lansing and be their wedding photographer. Her timing is, indeed, perfect. Stephen + Natalie got ready and shared a first look at Natalie’s mom's house, where we enjoyed locally made pastries and got acquainted. Nat’s sister, Julia, finished her hair and we caravanned 3 cars deep downtown to the Michigan Historical Museum where Natalie + Stephen committed their lives to each other with the glass mosaic atrium as a backdrop. We ended our time together with some flash free private portraits inside the ever exclusive Michigan Capitol Building in Lansing. Just the three of us were allowed in, so I opted to leave my second shooter at home for this wedding.
